Recipe for Georgie’s Lamb Burgers

Ingredients

Cabbage Base
  • Olive oil
  • 1 large green cabbage, cut into thick rounds
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
Lamb Burgers
  • 1.5 lb ground lamb
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
Assembly
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese

Equipment

  • Sheet pan
  • Mixing bowl

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Slice cabbage into thick rounds and place on a sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil and season lightly.

  • In a bowl, mix the lamb, minced garlic, seeded jalapeño, cilantro, cumin, curry, turmeric, and a tiny pinch of cinnamon.
  • Form into burger patties.

  • Place a slice of red onion on each cabbage round, then place a lamb patty on top.
  • Roast for 20 minutes.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Return to the oven for 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the edges are caramelized.
